Board of Directors
Ronald E. Anderson (Chairman)
Retired after 34 years with the Federated Department Store Organization, Mr. Anderson has a strong background in the financial aspect of business. He received a BS degree in Accounting from Miami University of Ohio, Oxford, Ohio. Mr. Anderson worked in various divisions owned by the Federated system. He worked in a variety of positions in the accounting and finance area before being elected as Executive Vice President by the Federated Systems Group Division. Mr. Anderson is a member of the Dawson County Rotary Club and has served in various charitable organizations including the past Chairman of the Friends of Zoo Atlanta.
Jerry L. Blankenship
Mr. Blankenship retired from United Parcel Service after 30 years of service. He held numerous positions in the finance and accounting function at UPS prior to his promotion as Corporate Internal Audit Director. Mr. Blankenship received a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. Mr. Blankenship has been involved in a number of civic and community activities, especially those relating to children and local children’s sports programs. He served as president of Batavia, Illinois Little League Baseball for 3 years. Mr. Blankenship presently devotes much of his time and talent to volunteer service work to United Way, Georgia Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Habitat for Humanity, Food for the Poor, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He and his wife are active parish members of St. Brendan Catholic Community Church.
Scott A. Henson
Mr. Henson is President and owner of Scott A. Henson, Inc., which is a real estate development and construction company. He has owned and operated the company since 1987. His company primarily does commercial construction on sites the company develops. Mr. Henson attended the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia and Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia in the field of Business Administration. Civic and community activities include assistant coaching in various junior athletics at Pinecrest Academy, a former member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, supporter of the Atlanta Union Mission, March of Dimes, Empty Stocking Fund, Good Samaritan Health Center and Episcopal Charities Foundation.
Douglas G. Hiser, D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Hiser received numerous degrees from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky. He received a BS degree with a major in Biology, a Doctor of Dental Medicine, and masters of Science and received a certificate in orthodontics. In the 1990s he opened his orthodontic practice in Cumming, Georgia after successfully practicing in Henry County for 3 years. Subsequently, he has opened offices in Dahlonega and Dawsonville. Dr. Hiser has been active in civic and community activities which include membership in the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce. He is a monthly volunteer at the Cumming Nursing Home, coaches basketball at a middle school, and helps with career planning at schools in both Dawson and Forsyth County schools.
Richard A. Hunt
Mr. Hunt is President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of GB&T Bancshares, Inc. and is Chief Executive Officer of its lead bank, Gainesville Bank & Trust. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors United Bank & Trust in Polk County, Georgia; Community Trust Bank in Paulding and Cobb Counties; HomeTown Bank of Villa Rica in Carrol County, Georgia; and Mountain State Bank in Dawsonville, Georgia. Hunt has over 40 years of commercial banking experience, beginning his career with the First National Bank of Atlanta in 1965. In 1972, he joined First Georgia Bank in Atlanta and served it and its successor, First Union, for a total of 15 years. In 1987, he became an organizing director, President and CEO of Gainesville Bank & Trust. Under his leadership, Gainesville Bank & Trust has gown from a denovo bank to $690 million in total assets and the lead bank in a $1.8 billion multi-bank holding company. Hunt graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Community Banks Association Georgia, the Northeast Georgia Chapter of Bank Administration Institute and the Georgia Bankers Association. He is a past trustee of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He has served his local community and State in numerous leadership positions, currently including the Board of Directors of Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Spencer L. Strickland
Mr. Strickland is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, received his MBA from Brenau University, and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Mr. Strickland has spent his entire career in banking and he currently serves as President & CEO of Mountain State Bank. Prior to his current position, he served as Executive Vice President of Mountain State Bank, Regional Business Banking Manager for the North Georgia Region of BB&T, and Executive Vice President of Century South Bank of Dawsonville.
Mr. Strickland has been a resident of Forsyth County since 2000. Active in community, Mr. Strickland is a member of the south Forsyth Rotary Club, Chairman Elect and a 2004 graduate of Leadership Forsyth, Board Member of the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce, a former volunteer for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce as a North Georgia team leader, and volunteer for various other charitable organizations. He and his family are active members of the Cumming First United Methodist Church.
Carlos Rodriguez
For the past fifteen years, Mr. Rodriguez has been owner and operator of the La Cazuela Restaurants, a group of Mexican restaurants that has grown to 8 in the North Metro area from Athens to Canton. Mr. Rodriguez is a co-founder of Pinecrest Academy, a private Catholic school; a member of the St. Benedicts Catholic Church; and holds memberships in the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Mr. Rodriguez is on the Board of Trustees of Southern Catholic College in Dawsonville, board member of Make a Wish Foundation, and board member of Aurora Theatre in Duluth, Georgia. Mr. Rodriguez has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Monterrey Technical Institute, and a master's degree in Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Anna B. Williams (Vice Chairman)
Mrs. Williams currently operates Anna B. Williams P.C., a business and tax consulting firm. Mrs. Williams is a CPA and founding partner in the accounting firm of Williams, Benator, and Libby, CPA’s LLP, Atlanta, Georgia. She also serves as Director of Digital Security Vision, Inc., which sells security products to school systems and transit systems. Mrs. Williams is a partner in Adhibelo, LLC, a marketing service. In addition, she is Corporate Secretary and one-third owner of BCW Development, Inc., a real estate rental company. Mrs. Williams also serves on the board of GB&T Bancshares, Inc. the holding company of Mountain State Bank. Community interests include serving as Director and former Chairperson of the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce, Director and Treasurer of the Dawson County Arts Council, Director of Appalachian Education & Recreation Services which operates the Len Foote Hike Inn, Director and past President of the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Rotary Club of Dawson county and is serving as International Chairman. Mrs. Williams is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children in Hall/Dawson County courts. Mrs. Williams is an honor graduate of Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
